The artist : THE ICONOCLAST embodies the hyper realistic vision and radical anti-iconic aesthetics of Fabio J. Raffaeli. Fabio has been active within the punk rock/hardcore scene for more than 20 years and has been working as a fashion designer since the late 90’s with his own street wear brand called EBLOOD, the first hardcore related clothing brand in the world. Now he runs his own fashion distribution company called Flower Distribution and his own retail space called Hannibal Store, located in the center of Turin, Italy. THE ICONOCLAST is the result of his continuous travels around the world and his fascination for counter youth culture, undefined beauty, outcasts and lowlifes.
The picture : The picture was taken in Venice Beach California. The walk on the beach transforms itself around 6 in the morning every day when all the homeless people are evicted from the beach to give space to tourists, shops and performers. Its one of main US symbols of survivalism/capitalism, fascinating and devastating at the same time.
