Native of Strasbourg, it’s in Mulhouse that Laurie Franck integrates the Fine Arts School. The day she was graduated, photography, she had neglected until then, quickly became her favorite medium. She became known by creating DIY fanzines she sends to galleries and other amateur art lovers. In 2011, she moved to Lyon and invests her talent for different jewelry brands (Anne Thomas, Colette Me Know), magazines including People Are Strange and POPPYCOCK with whom she works regularly, and music groups (De Mountain, MORSE, Téhéssé). She regularly exhibits her photographs in Lyon, Switzerland, Germany, or Ukraine.
Insensitive to the digital, “when I have to use it, this is a punishment,” Laurie Frank works primarily with analog films and Polaroid.
For Shutter Clothing, Laurie Franck signs an original collaboration through an offbeat visual. While it is she who usually showcases the brand universe, it’s her job which is here put in to the foreground.
